 Well...I believe that part of my job is to make the process of choosing a painter & decorator and hiring one as easy as possible for you, regardless if you choose to hire me or not.

Hiring a painter and decorator can be quite a daunting task if you've never done it before. We all get bombarded daily with flyers, leaflets and adverts from tradesmen (even knocking on your door) claiming to be the best at ‘this’ or ‘that’ for the best price.

 It can be difficult to know which one to choose. And even after you have decided it’s still a bit of a lottery. You don’t have any idea if the decorator you’re hiring lives up to what he’s telling you until he has actually done some work for you. And obviously if he isn’t any good, it’s a bit late after the job’s done and you’ve paid him.

 I have heard countless horror stories from new customers of mine who have been let down and left with ‘shoddy’ workmanship, leaving them out of pocket not only for the job they’ve just had done but also paying someone else like me to fix it. Not good, I’m sure you’ll agree.

There is also the issue of immigrants arriving over here thinking they can pick up a paint brush and call themselves a decorator and go out and charge half the price, putting the good 'time served' professionals out of work. Now don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against anyone coming into our country and starting a new life, in fact I think it can be quite a good thing.

There are plenty of decent, skilled and hard working people coming over that would put us Scots to shame. However, there are also a lot of cowboys and conmen arriving from over seas that think they can justify leaving a poor job by charging cheap prices. It’s fair to say we also have this problem within our own home grown ‘talent’.

 So my purpose for putting this website together is to make your life a bit easier. I want to help take the difficulty out of choosing a first class quality painter and decorator. Not only choosing one that will leave you a first class job, but also one that you can trust in your home.

I am regularly given the keys to my customers’ house to do my job when they are at work, on holiday or just simply out for the day to get away while the job is being done. It’s for this reason that I have included a list of testimonials within this website. These are just some of my happy customers that I have done work for over the years, who phone me over and over again when they need some decorating done.
